Vesegonsk.

 - a town in the Tver region, the regional center. Located 253 kilometers from the city of Tver. The population is 7,5 thousand people.
Old Vesegonsk called "bear corner", "Tver Siberia." In his famous book "A year and a plow with a rifle," written in 1919, a member of the great events of those years Alexander Todorsky wrote:
"Surrounded by swamps and forests ... Vesegonsk was a backwater, like the one which is every year after the spill Mologa, modestly hiding somewhere in the grass, basking sleepily in the sun, and is a welcome kisnet haven for carefree frogs."
Official mention of this town was first mentioned in the charter of Ivan the Terrible in 1564 Vesegonsk was a small village located on the River Mologa among dense forests. The name "Vesegonsk" comes from the Finnish words "whole" - a tribe that lived in this region 2000 years ago, "eega," which means water.
